Received clarification from Jason of By Night Studios: The Downtime Action is for finding the correct Resonance, only. Actually learning the Discipline plays not part in the action, and as such Herd can be used in place of the Downtime Action.

With some of the new character options from Enemies of the Night having been released to Darkness Emergent players, the House Rules have been updated to provide clarity or maintain game balance.
